OğuzTV: 21th February all around the world is celebrated for the international mother language day both by those who have the possibility for their mother tongue in the educational system and those who fight for achieving this right. This day is the memorial for the Bengali students who were killed by the Pakistani police in the years between 1948 and 1952.
This day for the South Azerbaijani Turks, and the Turks in different parts in Iran and the non-persian nations in the territory is considered as a tragic day for not having the right to write and read their mother tongue. Thier mother tongue is considered as a threat to the national security and the territorial integrity of Iran and it is replaced by Farsi language of the minority who has ruled the territory since 1925.
2017 on February 21, massive arrests and exile on South Azerbaijani Turks by Iran’s regime shocked the humanity and human rights and the mother language activists all around the world.
Five mother language activists were sentenced to 55 years in the prison and ten years of exile. They are the South Azerbaijani civil activists who fight for the linguistic and human rights of the Turks in Iran.
Alireza Farshi was sentenced to 15 years in prison and two years of exile in Khuzestan province(Alahwaz). Akbar Azad to 10 years in prison and two years of exile in Ilam province, Behnam Sheikhi to ten years in prison and two years of exile in Khuzestan province(Alahwaz) and Hamid Manafi Nadarli ten years in prison and two years of exile in Lorestan province. Ironically it is the gift this nation got from Iran’s persian regime in the international mother language day.
It is recalled that Siyamak Mirzayi, the Turk activist has been sentenced to ten years in prison and two years of exile for some days before the massive arrests of the international mother language day happened.
The Iranian Revolutionary Court has blamed these five Turk activists and many others jeopardizing the national security of the country.
